Buchanan County Health Trust Awards Over $42,000 to Area Non-Profit Organizations

(Independence, IA)-The Buchanan County Health Trust is pleased to award over $42,000 in grant funding to the following area organizations to fulfill their requests for health and medical-related projects and equipment.
- $1,635.49 to Kidsville Early Childcare Center for bathroom accessibility
- $7,500 to the Independence Fire Department for extrication gloves
- $6,760 to the Fairbank Fire Department for updated PPE gear
- $4,901 to the Independence Mental Health Institute for a new stretcher
- $500 to St. John School for school nurse supplies
- $2,700 to the Jesup School District for an AED
- $5,000 to the Winthrop C&C Club/Splash Pad Committee for the construction of a community splash pad
- $13,342 to BCHC for new exam lights, lab stat spin, blanket warmer, and Sara Steady
The Buchanan County Health Trust is a nonprofit organization exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes which benefit or support the health and well-being for persons within Buchanan County. Since its foundation in 1989, the Health Trust has awarded nearly $1.1 million dollars to Buchanan County non-profit organizations.
