On Friday, November 13th, the Buchanan County Health Trust (BCHT) held its 18th Annual Dinner & Auction at Heartland Acres Event Center in Independence. With a 1920’s inspired theme, guests were greeted with valet parking and a professional photo opportunity with one of the many classic cars in the Heartland Acres Cars of Yesteryear Museum.
Serving as a fundraiser for the Health Trust, the night consisted of a silent and live auction, dinner and dessert, and entertainment by BlueTone Jazz Collective. Members of the Independence Cross Country team helped in serving dinner and dessert while Master of Ceremonies, Dr. Kurt House, along with BCHT president, Susie Bevans, welcomed guests.
“It was truly a wonderful evening! The 1920’s never looked so good, commented BCHT board member, Michelle McBride. It was enjoyable to see everyone take part in the theme and raise money for a great cause.”
With 160 guests in attendance, over $10,000 was raised in auction items alone. “We sincerely appreciate the generous contributions from area businesses, families, and our guests for supporting the Health Trust and allowing us to continue to support health initiatives within the communities of Buchanan County,” commented McBride.
