Buchanan County Health Trust Awards Over $80,000 to Area Non-Profit Organizations
BCHT Surpasses One Million Dollars in Awarded Grant Funding since 1989

(Independence, IA)-The Buchanan County Health Trust is pleased to award $80,949.23 in grant funding to the following area organizations to fulfill their requests for health and medical-related projects and equipment.
- $11,700 to Buchanan County Health Center for the purchase of additional sterilization trays for surgery volume expansion and new speech therapy software.
- $5,000 to Kidsville Early Childcare Center for security system and safety improvements.
- $1,018.65 to St. John Catholic Church & School for AED updates and training.
- $24,000 to the Independence Fire Department for updated PPE gear.
- $12,881.63 to the Independence Police Department for bulletproof helmets.
- 2,000 to Living Water Church for the purchase of an AED.
- $12,000 to Jesup Ambulance Service for the partial funding of a Zoll Monitor replacement.
- $10,000 to the Independence Parks & Rec Department to go towards inclusive playground equipment.
- $2,348.95 to the Independence Community School District for the purchase of emergency response cabinets.
- $2,000 to St. Athanasius School for the purchase of an AED.
The Buchanan County Health Trust is a nonprofit organization exclusively for charitable, education, and scientific purposes which benefit or support the medical and health care for persons within Buchanan County. Since its foundation in 1989, the Health Trust has now surpassed the one million dollar milestone of awarded grant funding to nonprofit organizations within Buchanan County.
